Polis på campus? Bara den idén skrämmer. Ett år gammal story, men intressant.

Your BruinCard is your Passport to Life at UCLA. It serves as your official University identification card/badge, permits access to facilities and special events, and can be used to purchase goods and services through out the University, Medical Center and Health System.

At around 11:30 p.m., CSOs asked a male student using a computer in the back of the room to leave when he was unable to produce a BruinCard during a random check. The student did not exit the building immediately.

The CSOs left, returning minutes later, and police officers arrived to escort the student out. By this time the student had begun to walk toward the door with his backpack when an officer approached him and grabbed his arm, at which point the student told the officer to let him go. A second officer then approached the student as well.

The student began to yell “get off me,” repeating himself several times.

It was at this point that the officers shot the student with a Taser for the first time, causing him to fall to the floor and cry out in pain.

Vad jag undrar mest är vad som hände mellan 'Hej, har du ditt kort?' och det att polisen skjuter honom med en taser första gången.

Kommentarerna från **** the police-mobben är lika trista och givna som de från andra lägret om han gjort som polisen sa, hade ingenting hänt (något som låter mer polisstat än land of the free).

Videon visar brist på empati med någon som just fått en massa ström genom kroppen, ja, men den berättar så mycket mer. Behovet att visa upp filmen, misstron mot medias rapportering...

En plats där en polis anser sig vara auktoriserad att använda övervåld mot någon som inte kan visa upp ett ID-kort är märkligt att tänka sig. Undrar vad poliserna här råkat ut för tidigare på dagen som gör att de inte märker att de befinner sig i ett bibliotek.
